Former Saginaw High and Michigan State star Draymond Green became the second athlete from Saginaw and third basketball player from MSU to bring home a gold medal.
Green scored two points Sunday in the United States’ 96-66 win Sunday over Serbia in the men’s basketball gold medal game in Rio de Janeiro.
Green joins Magic Johnson (1992) and Steve Smith (2000) as former MSU men’s basketball players with gold medals. He follows Serena Williams as the second athlete from Saginaw to win Olympic gold.
