1916 : Detroit Light Guard Sent to El Paso To Neutralize Pancho Villa

On July 7, 1916, the Detroit Light Guard, a unit of the Michigan National Guard, arrived in El Paso, Texas to join the expedition into Mexico to remove the threat to border towns posed by insurgent Pancho Villa and his forces.
