1935 : Detroit Lions Win First Championship

On December 15, 1935, the Detroit Lions defeated the New York Giants for the National Football League Championship before a crowd of 15,000 at the University of Detroit Stadium. Each of the Lions received $7,207 for their victory, while each of the Giants received $4,804.
