Bright lights and bright colors make for a visual delight at Electric Forest.
The popular music and camping festival is known as a photographer’s dream. Seemingly everywhere one looks is a potential scenic, artistic or unusual photo opportunity.
And, it many cases, the brightness of the lights and colors just adds to it. The bright lights are found at one of the multiple music stages where electronic/dance artists play in the midst of a light show. The bright colors are found amongst the festival-goers, some who wear bright-colored clothes or colorful paint on their bodies.

Electric Forest 2017 also got started on Thursday, June 21, as Good Lifers arrived, set up and jumped into the festivities by literally jumping into the Double JJ Resort’s Back 40 pool.
The welcome party was open to Good Life attendees, and featured beer, food, music and splish-splashing fun.
Attendees were provided with 10 kegs of free beer from Bell’s Brewery – Oberon and Two Hearted, said Nicole Pettrey, of Rothbury, who organized the food and beverages for the party. They also were treated to pig roast – four pigs were slow smoked overnight for the party. Twenty-five pig butts were also cooked for the crowd of 3,000 people.
Electric Forest 2018 will be held during two separate weekends. Weekend one is June 21-24. Weekend two is June 28-July 1.
In its ninth year, Electric Forest reverted to one weekend of artful entertainment, scheduled for Thursday-Sunday, June 27-30, at Double JJ Resort in Rothbury, Michigan.
