On September 27, 1999, the Tigers defeated the Kansas City Royals by an 8-2 count in the final Major League Baseball game played at Tiger Stadium. Robert Fick hit an unforgettable grand slam homer to right in the bottom of the eighth inning to tally the Tigers’ final four runs.
